David is a longtime voice on the San Diego arts, entertainment and cultural scene. The former editor of the San Diego Union-Tribune’s “Currents Weekend” and “Night&Day” sections, he wrote a popular column on the arts, “For What It’s Worth,” and chronicled in particular the glitter and impetuosity of the film industry. Following nine years as theater critic for San Diego CityBeat, he is now the author of his own theater-review blog, “Stage West,” and the writer/editor of the San Diego Union-Tribune’s weekly Arts & Culture newsletter. He possesses a BA in journalism from the University of Southern California and an MFA in Creative Writing from San Diego State University, where he is today an instructor in journalism. She is the former critic for Examiner.com and was the lead critic for the San Diego Jewish Times for more than 20 years, five of which she shared a byline with her late husband, Gerry. She has been a member of the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle since 1986. Carol is a past member of the American Theatre Critics Association.

is a freelance theater reviewer and entertainment writer for a number of digital and physical publications, including San Diego Story, Talkin’ Broadway, and the various San Diego Community News Network (SDCNN) newspapers. A fan of the theater from a very young age, Dixon wrote reviews for the San Diego Union-Tribune column, Rated G, and the San Diego News Network (SDNN), and had his own column, Daves DVD Picks, in the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts’ newspaper, The Production. He was the Entertainment Editor and an award-winning writer for The Daily Aztec, the college newspaper for SDSU, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of several honor societies including Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi, Scholars Without Borders, and Golden Key International Honour Society. David is a voting member of the Regional Theatre Tony Award for the American Theatre Critics Association.

Alejandra is a Binational Consultant in communications through PR, Production, and Translations. Founder of Enciso Consulting, a boutique firm that has worked on binational endeavors in the Tijuana-San Diego border for over 10 years with different clients like Broadway San Diego, La Jolla Playhouse, Moxie Theatre, The Old Globe, California Ballet, Tijuana Hace Teatro, Theatre Communications Group, and more. Alejandra also has been a reporter for 15+ years covering arts and entertainment in different media outlets as well as the bilingual blog www.FromAnother0.com and www.DesdeOtro0.com.  Since 2020, she has been hosting a biweekly podcast in Spanish Desde Otro 0 and its alter ego in English From Another 0. A safe space dedicated to the arts and the industry.

Cassiopeia is a journalist, educator, and business consultant based in Southern California. Cassiopeia earned her bachelor’s in journalism at San Diego State University, an executive master’s in business administration from Quantic School of Business and Technology, and is a National Geographic Certified Educator. With extensive experience in digital content development, project management, curriculum development, and business leadership across multiple industries and as a long-time San Diego actress, producer, and nonprofit theatre manager, she loves leveraging her experience in the theatre space through critique. Cassiopeia publishes for San Diego Story and On the Craft, but her writing has also been seen in publications including People Magazine, Broadway World, Vista Press, San Diego City Beat, Valley Roadrunner, Escondido Times-Advocate, and others. Cassiopeia also enjoys appearing on local broadcast segments to discuss theatre.

Makayla Hoppe has been part of the San Diego theatre community for almost 15 years, having worked for companies like Cygnet Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse. She currently works as the assistant editor and is a contributing columnist for the San Diego Jewish Journal. Prior to her work at SDJJ, she served as editor-in-chief for Grossmont College’s newspaper, The Summit. She now studies journalism and theatre arts at San Diego State University. Pam is the co-founder of the Craig Noel Awards and serves as both the Arts & Entertainment editor of the San Diego Union-Tribune and as its chief theater and dining critic. From 1999-September 2012, she served as arts and features editor and theater critic of The North County Times newspaper. She is a fellow from the National Endowment for the Arts’ Institutes for Arts Journalism at USC (2005) and Columbia University (2010) and the 2022 National Critics Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center in Waterford, Ct. She has worked full-time at daily newspapers in the San Diego area since 1981 when she joined the staff of the Daily Aztec at her alma mater, San Diego State University.

A native San Diegan, Jean has been watching theater for (mumble, mumble) years – since Starlight and the Old Globe were all San Diego had in theater companies – and writing about film and theater for the past decade. A Berkeley graduate and college librarian for (mumble, mumble) years. She is an enthusiastic chorister, currently singing with the La Jolla Symphony Chorus. A favorite appearance was a chorus role in the opera “Dido and Aeneas.” She reviews theater (and sometimes film) for the online San Diego Gay and Lesbian News (sdgln.com) as well as San Diego UpTown News and San Diego Downtown News.

ErinMarie is a San Diego native and has been involved in theatre in some form since she was young. She has covered theatre and pop culture through interviews and theatre reviews for the past 7 years for several websites and all of her work can be found at www.talktheatretome.com. Having studied musical and children’s theatre in college, ErinMarie is especially supportive of having arts in education and encouraging opportunities for youth to be involved in all aspects of theatre. ErinMarie also works in the entertainment travel industry and specializes in a wide array of productions from pre-Broadway projects, Broadway openings, high-end theatrical road tours, television, and movies.
